This book was quite intriguing because I've been working out a little more than usual for the past few weeks. After going through the book, I can see that there is a lot of benefits to this "afterburn" that the author talks about in the book.

The books starts with your introduction to the afterburn effect. Your typical questions are answered right away like "what is it?" and "how long does it last?". There is also a glossary in the beginning too which is very helpful for someone new to this. So I liked that.

The book continues with things you can do to maximize this after burn. Specific workouts are included, for beginners and advanced people, along with some safety issues. There is even a running portion of the book, which surprised me.

Overall a great buy, I recommend this to anyone looking to get a better work out.

A lot has already been said about weight loss. I currently run a lot (3 times a week) and always wondered why my weight was still not going down that much.
This book came at the right time and is an eye-opener for understanding the afterburn effect thoroughly.
I like the way how Marc Holden puts different aspects in the right context.

E.g. I have learned that workouts in combination with eating well is important.

As a 'afterburn' novice, I have sufficient and concrete information to start tomorrow. I will for sure re-read it later on as it contains a ton of information.
I've always had an interest in losing some of my body fat(mostly around my stomach) and I've done exercises from sprinting,crunches,ab workouts, stationary bikes. I'm not able to workout everyday of the week and I was lost on what workouts I should be doing for how long and how often to get the best results. I now have sufficient information to maximize the results from the little time that I have.
After you've read the first chapter or so, you get it and it's information of interest to somebody who wants to burn fat. After that it's just repetitive information.
I had no idea what the afterburn effect was before reading this book. After reading it, I had started to realize that I knew the sensations. I'm now going to use some of the things in this book when I exercise. Overall, a pretty good book.
It's like reading a science book. I really haven't gotten thru all of it. For me, when something is interesting, I breeze thru the pages. May be more for die hard lifters. Although I'm highly interested in body building, I like books and people that explains things a little more easily. I struggle with this one. Sorry
To be honest, there really is not alot of information on the "afterburn effect" out there, but it is so critical to weight loss. Once I understood the concept, my workouts increased tremendously both in terms of focus and results. By knowing how it works you can maximize your effort.

The author provides some great advice in this book and delivers actionable tios to an underserved niche in the fitness arena.
I am a busy mother and I do not have much time to exercise. I had already heard of the afterburn effect but before buying this book I had no idea how to take advantage of the possibility of continuing to burn fat even while resting after my exercises.

Because I am always so busy, I am glad Marc Holden has created a book that is so easy to read and understand. I have no time to read complicated scientific findings about weight loss!

This book taught me that exercise is a one step forward,but poor diet is two steps backwards!
I will certainly recommend this book to other friends who just like me need sufficient and useful information to achieve weightloss.
